LEVELS OF PLAY

The Gusher United competitive program caters for all levels of competitive soccer in our region.  We have a goal to produce teams to compete in the local area as well as the Houston area too.   Our competitive programs range from U8-U19.

We have a great program that introduces young players onto the competitive soccer scene "Academy".  Our academy program accepts players who are in the U8-U10 age groups - click here to find out more about our academy program.

Gusher United Teams are trained by our very own professional training staff who compete in various associations in the area.  The list of associations in our area are as follows:

Spindletop Youth Soccer Association (SYSA) - Hosts Division 2 brackets from U11-U19.
Eastern District Super II (EDS2) - Hosts Super 2 brackets from U14-U19.
Easter District Division One Association (EDDOA) - Hosts Division 1 brackets from U11-U19 (U11-U13 are qualifying ages).

LEVELS OF PLAY

ACADEMY PROGRAM

The Academy program is the home of U9/U10 boys and girls who are interested in professional training and developing as an individual in preparation for competitive soccer.  Academy players play both locally and in Houston for friendly scrimmages and tournaments.

EDDOA Division 1

Division 1 games are played in the Houston area and teams are required to train a minimum of twice a week with a club trainer.  Players are expected to compete for a place in the team and aim to play at the highest level possible at all times.

However, a team cannot qualify to play Division 1 until they have played in the EDDOA qualifying brackets during the ages of U11 and U12 (see diagram above).

EDDOA Super 2

Super 2 is a division in-between Division 1 and Division 2.  Super 2 teams typically play their games in the Houston area and train at least twice a week with a club trainer.  There is a requirement that coaches make every effort to play each player at least 50% of each game.

SYSA Division 2

This introductory level of competitive play is designed for those who enjoy the social aspect of the game and want to continue to develop their skills through better competition.  There is a requirement that coaches make every effort to play each player at least 50% of each game.

Division 2 teams play locally within the Spindletop Youth Soccer Association.  The minimum division 2 teams can train is once a week with a trainer.  However, it is advised that Division 2 teams still train twice a week with a professional trainer in order to maintain player and team development.
